The third short artist documentary I've made for The Davidoff Art Initiative, about my friend Hulda Guzman. This time around I decided to shoot the piece myself as well which was quite enjoyable. I shot, directed and edited this one and created some title card designs inspired by some of the modern graphics and colors in her pieces.

The 5th short documentary commission from The Davidoff Art Initiative about Haitian Visual Artist Tessa Mars. I followed her during her art residency at Residency Unlimited and had some really eye opening conversations on what it has been like growing up in Haiti and how she uses her work to break free from societal constraints on women. She was a delight to speak with.

Short documentary follows Leasho Johnson during his time at Residency Unlimited in Brooklyn part of The Davidoff Art Initiative. davidoffartinitiative.com
I loved interviewing Leasho. His work uses a lot of humour, but is quite sexual, and raw as well, very bold. We spoke about what it means to be a man in the Caribbean, the role that a history of colonization still has on our characters, and about DANCEHALL, among other things. It was interesting to see all the similarities between our cultures, he being from Jamaica and me being from another the Dominican Republic.

The Second short documentary commission for The Davidoff Art Initiative. I followed photographer Polibio Diaz during his art residency period in NYC. We went up to Inwood as he documented the life up there. It was great to see his charismatic self in action and to capture that.
